StFX Turf

What better place to go for gold than on a gold-coloured track?  The eight lane 400-metre synthetic-rubber track is of international standard and is sure to provide many personal best times for the competitors.  The fans can cheer on the runners in the comfort of the renovated stadium stands.

Slightly more than a triple-jump away will be where the field events take place.  There is a large area for the high jump, two pits for long jump, and space for the throwing events.

Coach K Court

The basketball competition will take place on the recently renovated Coach K Court, named after StFX men’s basketball coach, Steve Konchalski, who has coached for 42 years at StFX.  Last year, a new state-of-the-art wooden floor was installed.  There are also new bucket seats which provide great comfort for the edge of your seat action on the court.

StFX Memorial Field

Bocce ball will take place at Memorial Field, which is located next to the Oland Centre and just behind the StFX Chapel.  This is a natural grass field and is a perfect spot for the friendly competition of bocce ball.

Antigonish Golf & Country Club
76 Golf Course Rd. Antigonish, NS

The picturesque Antigonish Golf and Country Club is the venue for the golf competition. The course will present a good challenge to the golfer.  The tree-lined fairways make it important for the golfers to keep their ball on the fairway.  The greens present one of the hardest challenges on the course and golfers will need to keep their concentration.  Golfers will need to be in good shape because the course can be a tiring walk.  In the summer the undulating greens become very fast.  The club house has sandwiches, snacks and pub food available.  There is a large barbeque perfect for making lots of hot dogs and hamburgers for all to enjoy!

Charles V. Keating Millennium Centre
1140 Convocation Blvd. Antigonish, NS

The powerlifting competition takes place in the main arena of the Charles V. Keating Centre.  This will be an exciting prime time event which we hope will attract many Special Olympics athletes to cheer on their team mates!
